In a world where the ‘norm’ in Australia is to outsource expertise to India, local consultancy, AK Consulting ( AK Consulting ) Pty Ltd, has turned this situation around by providing its own valuable skills to India.

New and highly complex changes to Goods and Services Tax (GST) regulations, initiated by the Indian Government, meant that one of AK Consulting’s customer needed to make significant changes to its ERP system to meet the GST compliance regulations. The time available in which to make the system changes and comply with the unknown taxation rules was a very tight four months.

AK Consulting has specific expertise around GST, indirect tax compliance and ERP systems were commissioned by the customer to make their ERP system GST compliance. This included developing a robust and highly configurable solution which would be capable of meeting the new taxation requirements.

The GST changes were successfully implemented and the project completed within the original four-month timeline.

AK Consulting ’s experience of different GST systems in use in various countries around the world and their skills around ERP systems contributed to the efficiency of the project. They were able to hit the ground running, saving valuable time in a critical project in what has been described as a historical disruption to the Indian Taxation System.
